Could 2-Strokes be making a comeback?

Caterpillar recently released their new 2-Stroke with opposed pistons that fire when the pistons meet in the middle (no cylinder head, and one explosion powers two pistons). Koenigsegg’s new 3-Cylinder Tiny Friendly Giant can operate in 2-Stroke mode at lower RPMs (even though it has 4 valves per cylinder). I’d love to get my hands on one of the TFG engines!

Now I come across this little gem. 75 horsepower, 33 pound-feet of torque, and a 14,500 RPM redline. All out of a 250cc engine.
