Scam email about direct deposit change

This is probably the quickest way to put this message out to a large number of dealers. As this weekend is the end of the month, timing is critical.

Yesterday our dealership was hit by a scam where our office manager received an email from one of our employees asking to update his direct deposit info to a new account. Luckily she called him on the phone to confirm the change and found out the email was fake.

This morning another dealership I work with was hit by something similar.

The emails look legit and are even spoofing our domain name. Make sure your employees are verbally confirming any of these changes. Once you direct deposit those funds into a third parties account, they’ll be skimmed off and you will never see them again.

Scammers are out in force. Be careful.
