Old Peep-o-Rama sign asking for 25 cents to view something

Not even sure why we are still having this debate.

I have some contacts at Dominion who shared some user data with me.

Definitions
– Connections = click to dealer website, map views, and/or email to the dealer
– Additional Engagements = Print Listing, Send link to Friend and/or Video views

Summary
– An average listed unit with a price is more likely to receive 1.8x more Ad Detail Page-views, 1.4x more connections, and 2.9x more additional engagements when compared without a price.
– Units that list a price have a higher conversation rate vs those that do not; 18% higher conversion rate of search impressions into ad views on a unit with a price than a unit without price.
– An average listed unit with 5 or more photos is likely to receive 3x more ad views, 1.8x more connections and 3x more additional engagements than units with less than 5 photos.
– A unit with 5 or more photos typically sees a 55% higher conversion rate of search impressions into ad views versus a unit with less than 5 photos.

Cycle Trader also conducts ongoing research. A recent question asked if the customer would click on a link without a price. 90% of buyers said they would not even consider opening those listings.
