Sign saying "adventure seekers wanted - rent me"

A couple of months back a friend sent me a link to https://www.twistedroad.com/  and I checked it out. Twisted Road is a platform where motorcycle owners can rent out their motorcycles directly to other people. At first, I thought that the concept was nuts, but then I signed up for an account as I wanted to learn more.

It’s a pretty cool program. TR signs up owners and then lists their motorcycles on the Twisted Road website. They vet the customers who want to rent motorcycles to make sure they meet certain criteria (age, motorcycle endorsement, etc.). TR also offers comprehensive insurance coverage in case anything goes wrong, with different coverage levels and deductibles.

Recently, I talked to TR CEO Austin Rothbard about his expansion plans. Their latest program allows motorcycle dealers to rent out their used inventory. Sounds like a great way to make a little cash while you are waiting to find a new home for that used inventory, and it’s just another way to market the dealership.

Most dealers know that getting a customer in the seat is a great way for the customer to fall in love with a bike. What do you think about this new program and renting out your bikes?
